Researchers and Berry Industry Supporters,
Please “save-the-date” for the 6th annual BC Berries Research Review this February. We are targeting a hybrid event based physically in Abbotsford, BC with a virtual option on Zoom.
For the in-person option, registration will prioritize reserving seats for berry growers, so the number of researchers/industry support that can attend in person may be limited; however, virtual access to the event will be essentially unlimited.
For those who are new to this mailing list: Each year the BC Blueberry Council, BC Raspberry Industry Development Council, and BC Strawberry Grower’s Association (i.e., BC Berries) host an event comprised of 15–20-minute presentations on berry research funded by these Councils/Association. The primary audience is berry growers, but the review event is also a great opportunity for research groups to connect and get up to speed on each others’ progress in berry research.
Topics will include (but are not limited to):
Genetics (e.g., breeding, variety trials, and molecular marker development);
Pathology (e.g., viral, nematode, bacterial, and fungal challenges);
Entomology (e.g., direct insect pests and vectors of disease); and
Horticulture (e.g., cover cropping and precision irrigation practices).
