Each year the Northwest Berry Foundation has an end of season party, it’s coming up for us this week, which has me thinking about EOS parties of the past. Historically it would be hosted in Tom and Anna Peerbolt’s backyard where Tom would roll the dice on grilling up some type of meat/fish which was almost always suspiciously undercooked

We are getting into that time of year where we are starting to see the weather shift on the horizon while there is still plenty field work to complete. It’s hard to have that one last push of effort after months of daily grind getting the crop off when you understandably just want to bask in the accomplishment of!

What a season! Generally speaking, I’d say there was an uptick in yield for all crops. Too bad there wasn’t an uptick in price per pound in those same crops until this past month.

This is the final Small Fruit Update before the “off season” biweekly cycle begins. At the end of every field season it feels like we climbed a mountain but this season happens to also be the first field season in the books for the Northwest Berry Foundation (NBF) since the restructuring.
