Adopting or Adjusting Technologies: Why not?

image is not available

Agriculture is as diverse as is the research and technology revolving around it. The number one thing every grower is good at is adapting. Adapting machinery, adapting parallel production methods, and adapting to the ever-changing weather.

Many technologies have the potential for overlap with other commodities, as do many insects and disease management strategies, but not all of us have the advantage of having cross commodity discussions at the dinner table like my nurseryman husband and I do (for the record, our kids would rather us not have this advantage). For example, these recent articles from the Digger Magazine related to thrips monitoring and management and exploring the use of dogs for best vole management have some relation to our side of agriculture with some adaptations.

How do we best use glean this cross commodity information and think about possible adaptations?

Do you think this forum is a good space to explore these overlaps?

What insects, diseases, machines, or technologies do you see in other areas that might be worth exploring in the Pacific Northwest berry sector?
